Material Handler - Night Shift

Purpose of Role
The purpose of this role is to supply resin and recycled material to all injection-molding machines.
D-shift: Wednesday night/thursday 12am-6:30am Thursday, Friday and Saturday 6pm-6:30am
Areas of Accountabilities •Receive inbound raw materials from rail car, bulk truck, and/or pallet loaded gaylords; verify paperwork and transfer material to silos •Stage materials at injection molding machines for use in production •Operate forklift to transport material from one location to another; perform forklift inspections •Monitor levels of material in silos to ensure they are full •Ensure the correct material blends (virgin resin, regrind, color) are run by loading new material into the blender for job changes and performing checks throughout the shift •Effectively and safely operate grinder, pelletizer, and metal separator/material cleaning machines •Maintain organization and cleanliness standards (5S) •Assist other team members (forklift operators, machine operators) by filling in during breaks or helping complete tasks (loading trailers, moving product) •May be asked to pull accessories (handles, wheels, etc.) or specialty components from the warehouse and transport them to production •May be asked to test regrind; take samples, go to lab, do melt index test, visually inspect •Maintain materials inventory (resin, color, regrind) by stocking, labeling, and reordering as instructed •May perform basic maintenance tasks such as changing filters, calibrating scales, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience •Proven ability to safely operate Powered Industrial Trucks (forklifts). •Capable of lifting, pushing, moving 50+lbs.
