Overview:
This position can be filled in Dallas, Fort Worth, or Austin. This position requires 25-50% travel. The Director of Learning and Operational Effectiveness position has responsibility for operational learning programs and ensuring training requirements are met for all departments within Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas (PPGT). Designs, plans, and implements onboarding and ongoing training programs, policies, and procedures. This position collaborates with affiliate leaders to develop content, evaluation tools, and materials to empower staff to be effective members of the PPGT team. Abides by the organizations mission in performing job duties. Demonstrates an understanding and commitment to PPGTs culture of quality, safety and risk awareness. Responsibilities: Designs, develops and implements strategic learning and development programming. Manages assigned programs and projects, which may include the expansion of services, or clinical workflow. Utilizes knowledge of adult learning styles, instructional design, group dynamics, interactive learning methods, quality improvement processes, and group process facilitation to enhance learning and development programs. Leads the new employee onboarding process for Health Services staff and required onboarding training for all staff and managers. Ensures high-quality training using multiple modalities, including remote or in-person classroom training, online synchronous and asynchronous, and skills-based learning opportunities. Develops job aids to support health center front-line staff with learning established or new health center processes. Ensures the development of an annual required training program. Develops a leadership curriculum and facilitation for leaders across departments. Optimizes the use of the electronic health record system (NextGen) through the creation and delivery of technically sound training content and supervises the delivery of these trainings. Identifies educational and training opportunities for staff, including management on a variety of appropriate topics such as: customer service & patient experience, leadership, operations, and technical training. Hire, supervise, train, support, observe, and develop Staff Training Coordinators and Administrative Training Specialists to deliver employee training, including New Employee Orientation and Health Services Fundamentals. Evaluate current processes and identify operational improvements to increase efficiency; develop a systems-based approach for non-licensed staff. Responsible for all formal supervisory activities such as hiring, training, evaluating performance, and mentoring of Staff Training Coordinators. Develop programs (including train-the-trainer for staff involved in new hire on-boarding) to improve the patient and employee experience by understanding the needs of health center and administrative staff by identifying and implementing effective adult learning strategies. Evaluate the tools and systems most effective for non-licensed staff work performance and eliminate redundancy of work utilizing operational improvement techniques (Six Sigma, etc.). Works to identify employee competency and skill gaps for health center staff, provides feedback regarding possible areas of improvement and develops tailored training to meet the assessed needs as appropriate. Provides on-site training and mentoring for Health Center Managers and non-licensed staff. Creates and updates a training manual for health center assistants. Maintains current knowledge of training techniques, adult learning styles as well as reproductive healthcare, contraceptive methods, Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) testing, and other services offered by the organization. Contributes to training policies and schedules utilizing knowledge of identified training needs, business systems, or changes in products, procedures or services. Documents training completion and ensures records are maintained per organization requirements. Understands and complies with regulations from all governing entities and health center protocols including but not limited to Patient Rights, Child Abuse identification and reporting, infection control, laboratory protocols, emergency evacuation, risk management, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety standards. Has unrestricted access to client protected health information (PHI) on paper and electronic forms for purposes of treatment, payment, and/or healthcare operations. The use of a clients protected health information should be limited to information needed for the specific task that is being performed or requested by the individual client. Disclosure of any client information must be for purposes of treatment, payment or healthcare operation OR must be accompanied by a valid authorization. Must adhere to minimum necessary rule. Qualifications: Bachelors degree + 4 years of relevant exempt experience or Associates degree + 6 years of relevant exempt experience or High School diploma or equivalent + 8 years of relevant exempt experience. Must have a minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience. Relevant exempt experience in any of the following: Adult learning, Employee Training, Health Services/Clinic Management, Supervisory experience. Health care industry experience preferred. Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
