Job Description
The US Commercial Business Technology Solutions is looking for a AWS Data Architect who is responsible for the planning, coordination, and successful deployments of US Commercial Data Lake project deliveries and building capabilities across AbbVie brands, and functions. Coordinates with IT Business Relationship Managers, Business Consultants, Solution Architects, Technical Leads, Developers, Business Analysts, PMO, business stakeholders, and System Integrator(s) to drive the US Commercial solutions through end-to-end delivery and completion.
Works closely with Data and System Integrator(s) to ensure alignment of key project activities and milestones for deployment and solution delivery. Oversees and ensures completion of business and project cut-over activities. The candidate will be responsible for the technical design of modernization efforts for a suite of system architecture, optimization of the system cost and infrastructure cost, improvement in DevOps processes and practices. The candidate will be responsible for providing expertise in the most current principles and practices of data management and architecture principles as well as experience in large system data designs, and data modeling techniques in the information management arena.
Responsibilities:
+ Demonstrated technology and personal leadership experience in architecting, designing and building highly scalable data applications.
+ Enterprise scale expertise in data management best practices such as data integration, data security, data warehousing, data analytics, metadata management and data quality.
+ Extensive knowledge and experience in architecting modern data integration frameworks, highly scalable distributed systems using open source and emerging data architecture designs/patterns.
+ Experience building external cloud (e.g. AWS) data applications and capabilities is highly desirable.
+ Expert ability to evaluate, prototype and recommend open source and vendor technologies and platforms.
+ Collaborate with teams and leadership within IT and with business partners to advance our technical capabilities and provide data solutions that drive business results
Qualifications
+ Bachelors and 8 years of experience OR Masters and 7 years experience OR PHD and 3 years of experience in designing and architecting complex solutions in a highly regulated environment
+ Experience defining technology standards for an organization
+ Experience with architecture frameworks, including design patterns, distributed applications, AWS Well-Architected Framework, etc, with the aim of reuse
+ Experience with BigData platform like Cloudera (CDH/CDP), AWS EMR
+ Experience with AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, Route 53, VPC, IAM, etc
+ Experience with programming technologies, including Java, Python, Kafka, Spark
+ Experience with Data technologies, including SQL, NoSQL, BigData, R, and GraphQL
+ Build cloud native data platforms and capabilities that enable data analytics, reporting, model developments and machine learning
+ Manage and enhance cloud native data lakes and Data Warehouse platforms.
+ Create Proof of Concepts (POCs) to illustrate how cutting-edge technologies can be incorporated and enhance Client's technology offerings
+ Provide technical guidance and educate team members and coworkers on development and operations
+ Key Skill Set:
+ Advocate and define cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems
+ Establish, maintain, and review architectural models with a focus on microservices in a cloud environment
+ Provide leadership in adherence to processes (i.e., design walk through and approval processes, Platform / System documentation, change management, SDLC, etc.)
+ Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment for cloud platform projects
+ DevOps/Platform background (AWS, Cloud Formation, Terraform, Kubernetes, Linux/Bash, Docker, CI/CD)

Salary: $117,500 - $223,500
