Machine Operator - Extrusion

We have an immediate opportunity for a Machine Operator 2. In this function you will operate machinery used in manufacturing high-quality food packaging products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines; Housekeeping Standards are followed/trains others Know emergency procedures and what to do in the event of power outages, machine failures, workplace injuries, etc. Wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required; gives feedback on proper usage Demonstrates and identifies Lock-out/Tag-out procedures Informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately Demonstrates safe behaviors & trains others on Hazard Identification; Reports identified hazards Produces high-quality plastic sheets using extrusion processes and practices Ensures sheet quality by performing required quality assurance tests and inspections. Demonstrate the ability to know material differences when processing for extrusion Operates at or below Company scrap targets Works to reduce rejected rolls per-month measurement Understands and completes daily 5S tasks Understand/identify defective or contaminated product, remove defective or contaminated product according to standard Understand how to identify gels or specks in material Understand silicone/anti-fog concentration and levels to meet standards Understand how to clean the coders Demonstrates proper use of coating measuring device and collection of QC retains Demonstrated the ability to sanitize Extrusion Lines using processes and practices of the facility Initiates quality testing on time and uses the data to make appropriate adjustment according to the specifications Supports company Food Safety efforts through commitment and compliance with SQF (Safety Quality Foods) standard practices and policies. Follow plant quality practices including Good Manufacturing Practices or GMP's Operates extruder machines and assists other Machine Operators Works to achieve 100% on-time completion of scheduled production Enters information into the plant Real Time Monitoring System (RTM), if applicable In Extrusion, handles rolls, and moves finished product roll to curing area In Extrusion, makes roll ticket and puts on product as required Uses the plant's AGV system to order/store rolls, if applicable Ensures proper roll receiving, packaging and documentation Maintains his or her work area in neat condition - Understands 5S & assists others Understands the production schedule and work orders, train and assist others Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, troubleshoot, and document downtime/scrap for efficiencies Demonstrate ability to complete changeovers per line, adjust, troubleshoot, for an effective start up Ability to move finished goods from Extrusion into the warehouse such as locations, scanning, inventory, moves, and receiving. Demonstrate/Train others. Assists other workers with specific chores as requested Additional Tasks
Completes and fills out daily logs/paperwork as required Completes all assigned cleaning/preventive maintenance tasks Delivers scrap to reprocessing area in the appropriate manner Identifies all processing or maintenance problems on assigned line; troubleshoot and document downtime/scrap Involved in a committee or provides continuous improvement ideas Mentors and trains new Operators Reports to work on-time and follows D&W attendance policy and guidelines Collaborates with other Team Members for a positive work environment Drive the business with the D&W culture of being customer focused, collaborative, and be on the cutting edge Prioritize the focus on D&W's core values of safety, teamwork, quality and productivity
Starting Pay:$23 to $25 based on experience
Additional $1.25 working 2nd or 3rd shift
