About Us
Reframe Systems is on a mission to build net-zero carbon housing for all, at massive scale. To achieve our mission, we need to make net-zero carbon housing more affordable and we are re-imagining how housing is designed and built. Our modular building platform and highly-automated production system will drive down cost, delivery time, and embodied carbon for ADUs and multifamily housing. We are setting up our first software driven factory in the greater Boston area (Andover, MA), and have a roadmap to scale our presence nationally. We are disrupting assembly line manufacturing for housing production and are backed by leading VC firms in the industrial and construction space. What We're Looking For
We are looking for a full stack software engineer with a focus on robotic perception, computer vision, and machine learning development to join us in creating the automation systems that form the backbone our next-generation micro-factory. Candidates should be eager to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of industry-veteran roboticists, architects, and engineers to design, prototype, and bring to production a new class of manipulation workcells.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of software-defined automation for industrialized construction. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain full-stack production code for robotic manipulation workcells. Deliver real-world software from the ground-up in a fast-paced environment. Design, develop, and maintain ML perception systems for robotic manipulation workcells and other automated systems. Drive architecture decisions and lead development including initial prototyping, pipeline development, model training, and automated testing. Validate hypothesis through data-driven experimentation and prototyping. Document, summarize, and advocate findings to peers. Execute on new ideas, carrying them from proof-of-concept to operations. Collaborate in the design of robotic components that will form the foundation of a new generation of automated micro-factories. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of experience in software development, robotics, and machine vision. Advanced C++17 and Python user. Experience developing robotics software in Linux using ROS 2. Proficiency in professional engineering best practices; Git, code reviews, code standards, source management, CI/CD, testing, and full software life cycle. Experience with state-of-the-art ML tools to solve robotics perception problems. Experience delivering the highest level of performance and reliability in production at scale. Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment. Self-motivated and able to solve problems independently. Bonus Prior experience delivering and maintaining ML systems at scale. Experience implementing data collection and retraining pipelines in production. Familiarity with the open-source libraries we use in our robotics stack, including Tesseract, BehaviorTree.Cpp, Foxglove, OpenCV, PCL, and GTest/GMock. Familiarity with the tools we use in our development environment, including Docker, AWS cloud services, and VSCode. Preferred BS/MS in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineer, Math, or related STEM degree.
