North Country Healthcare is seeking a dedicated, Board-Certified Emergency Medicine physician to join their established emergency medical team at their Critical Access Hospital in northern New Hampshire. Experienced Family Medicine physicians with relevant ER expertise may also be considered. This is a full-time, permanent position. 6-24 hour shifts per month (8 a.m. - 8 a.m.) Patient Demographics:
All ages in a 9-bed emergency department Patient Volume:
8,200 annually, averaging 22-23 patients per day Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients across all age groups. Manage a range of cases from minor surgeries to critical trauma in a 9-bed emergency department. Lead code responses for inpatients in collaboration with hospitalists. Coordinate care with on-call specialists including OB, Ortho, and GenSurg and access TelePsych, TeleNeuro, TeleICU, and TeleED resources. Utilize Meditec for electronic medical records. Requirements:
Education:
Doctor of Medicine Experience:
Minimum 3 years in Emergency Medicine, with preference for experience in a small hospital or CAH setting. Certifications:
ACLS, PALS, NRP, ATLS; ABEM or ABFM with relevant Emergency Medicine experience Skills:
Must be comfortable with the rural nature of the ED and limited on-site specialist availability. Preferred Candidate Qualities:
Excellent communication skills for visa candidates (H1-B and J-1 are considered). Native or bilingual English proficiency required. Interest in rural emergency medicine.
