SUMMARY OF POSITION
Warehouse Supervisor has the overall responsibility for all shipping, receiving and warehouse management functions. The Warehouse Supervisor primary responsibility is to ensure all orders are shipped, all in bound freight is off loaded and received accurately and timely. Additionally, the warehouse supervisor is to maintain neat and orderly product racks as designated in accordance with compliance requirements.
The warehouse supervisor will be required to access the computer ERP system as well as other computer-based technology to obtain necessary information to facilitate their job functions.
The warehouse supervisor is expected to communicate with production supervisor, on site fleet manager and inventory specialist on a daily basis to ensure shipments are prepared on a timely. This includes ensuring accuracy of paperwork and expediting shipments with proper attention. Meet all Key Performance Indicators (KPI) guidelines set by North America region, products are palletized according to Department Of Transportation (DOT) and customer requirements. Including “On Time in Full” OTIF.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead and guide shipping and receiving team members on a daily basis to ensure all necessary tasks have been completed timely.
- Serve as a “back-up” to shipping and receiving team members. Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
- Pulling finished goods off the shelves to fill the customer orders
- Capture finished goods Lot#, quantity, date of manufacture and the total skid count and weight per sales order.
- Contact the appropriate carrier to arrange for item pick up.
- Print/obtain pack list, BOL and other shipping documentation and wrap and label the skids for shipment.
- Load appropriate materials onto the correct carrier in accordance with DOT requirements.
- Selects, trains, develops, and motivates warehouse staff to ensure consistent attainment of schedules at optimum productivity and cost levels.
- Follow-Up with the appropriate parties in the event carriers they have not arrived in a timely manner for an assigned pick-up
- Schedule associates based on the needs of the business with minimum impact to overtime.
- Partner with all colleagues to ensure labor needs are met.
- Cross check all documentation for verification to ensure only minimize potential shipping and receiving errors.
- Monitor and track relevant Key Performance Indicators including first pass yield, on time deliveries and cost of poor quality
- Ensures compliance with all environmental, health, safety and security requirements and manufacturing procedures.
- Works with Inventory Specialist and support cycle count program to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Collaborate with Production Supervisor, Planning and other internal colleagues.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / EHS RESPONSIBILITIES
While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock, slippery surfaces.
The noise level in the environment is usually moderate; occasionally exposed to loud noise levels.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS/COMPETENCIES to perform the job duties
Key Education or Certification Required
- B.S. /B.A. degree preferred not required.
- Minimum 5 years of successful related experience and training.
- Must have successful work experience in a manufacturing / warehouse environment, preferably related to manufacturing of chemical products or technical knowledge of manufacturing and equipment.
