DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Position Summary: Keeps complete set of records of financial
transactions for the agency. Enters and maintains a variety of
information into the computer system; runs related reports as
required.
■ Maintain computerized ledger system: prepares journal entries for payroll; verified and enters details of
transactions in account and cash journals; receives and records currency and checks; prepares and makes
bank deposits
■ Serves as liaison with outsourced accounting firm and respond as needed, upload documents, email billing
invoices
■ Run related periodic and special statistical or billing reports
■ Payroll - call in payroll; prepare internal payroll report; enter payroll journal entry into Quickbooks online
■ Assist with monthly billing reports
■ Interact closely with contractual and/or financial auditors, providing information upon request
■ Maintain a filing system for required financial records, billing statements, and service contracts for the
agency
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS DESIRED
■ High School Diploma/equivalent or Associate's Degree in accounting or business
■ Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
■ Ability to read, write, speak and understand English well
■ Three years bookkeeping experience or minimum 2 years working in an office setting accounting division
■ Timeliness will be critical as this position, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in written and
verbal form
■ Strong skills required in the knowledge and use of accounting procedures and the use of Quickbooks Online
software programs
■ Knowledge of nonprofit accounting
■ Perform monthly bank reconciliations
■ Enter invoices for accounts receivable
■ AP/AR biweekly
■ Meeting on the Thursday before the 3rd Wednesday
■ Clean-up Journal Entries and cash grants reconciliation
■ Overall notations
■ Check runs for billpay
