Delivery Driver
Classification

Reports to
Delivery Driver Supervisor
Responsibilities & Essential Functions
- Follows directions on load sheet to properly load product for delivery
- Loads and unloads product from trucks by way of forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, or lifting
- Operates or assists trucks for the delivery of products following preset routes provided
- Serves as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public
- Collects payment or invoices from clients
- Retains product knowledge regarding expiration dates and rotates product accordingly
- Conducts daily inspections of the delivery vehicle
- Complies with all FMCSA, DOT, and in-house regulations and rules
- Provides quality service to our clients and positively represents Schott Distributing
- Maintains and protects all property in excellent condition
- Performs any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must hold a CDL-A in good standing
- No DWI/DUI in last 5 years
- Must hold a DOT Health Card
- Customer service experience preferred
- 1 or more years of experience as a truck driver preferred
Work Environment
This position is performed in a warehouse or a delivery truck/trailer with continuous stops at accounts. There is some exposure to weather conditions including extreme heat and cold. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and standard warehouse equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers.
Physical Requirements
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, and move cases and kegs of beer, regularly weighing up to 25 pounds, and frequently weighing up to 160 pounds (kegs), multiple times throughout the day.
- Bending and Stooping: Frequent bending, stooping, and squatting to load and unload products from the truck and stock them at delivery locations.
- Pushing and Pulling: Pushing and pulling loaded hand carts, pallet jacks, or dollies to transport beer products.
- Climbing: Climbing in and out of the delivery truck, and possibly using ladders or stairs to access storage areas at delivery locations.
- Standing and Walking: Extended periods of standing and walking, as deliveries are made throughout the day.
- Driving: Ability to drive for long periods, sometimes several hours, while maintaining focus and safely operating a large delivery truck.
- Manual Dexterity: Handling and maneuvering products, using tools to secure loads, and completing paperwork or electronic delivery logs.
- Talking: Effective verbal communication with customers, team members, and dispatchers to confirm orders, provide updates, and resolve delivery-related concerns.
- Hearing: Ability to hear surrounding traffic, vehicle warning signals, and customer interactions, as well as recognize important auditory cues for safety and operational efficiency.
Expected Hours of Work
Regular workdays are Tuesdays-Fridays, with a flexible start time ranging from 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
10-hour workdays plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Some overtime may be expected. Workdays change during some holiday weeks.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area may be expected.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Employees are required to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test and are subjected to random drug testing throughout employment with Schott Distributing, in accordance with FMCSA and DOT regulations.
