Oral Surgery Associates in Gadsden, Alabama is seeking a skilled and committed Dental Assistant to join our team and assist us in delivering exceptional care to our patients. Our core belief is putting the patient’s needs first, and it underlies every aspect of our practice.


The ideal candidate for the Dental Assistant position should possess a natural inclination towards providing excellent care.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the Oral Surgeon during a variety of surgical and dental implant procedures.
  • Assist in the lab as needed.
  • Cross train with front office team and assist with clerical duties as needed.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patients by following required procedures and protocols.
  • Take dental x-rays of excellent, diagnostic quality.
  • Review patient health history to ensure it is recorded accurately and completely.
  • Follow infection control protocol and sterilize instruments and equipment.
  • Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after surgical treatment.
  • Provide patients with post-operative instructions for oral care following surgery or other oral treatment procedures.
  • Record doctor notes and vital sign information during a surgical procedure or office consultation.
  • Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a computer and practice software.
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential per HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements:
  • 1+ years of Surgical or Dental Assistant experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Occasional travel to the Albertville location of Oral Surgery Associates is expected.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
  • Detail oriented, punctual, and patient-care focused.
  • Consistent professional appearance and attitude.
  • Motivated to grow and learn.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
