Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our specialized pediatric dermatology clinic. As an RN, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to pediatric patients with various dermatological conditions, ensuring their comfort and well-being while supporting the clinical team. You will work closely with pediatric dermatologists, assisting with patient assessments, treatments, and procedures, all while delivering excellent customer service and care to both children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care:

  • Perform assessments of pediatric patients, including medical history and skin conditions.
  • Provide age-appropriate education to patients and their families regarding treatment plans, skincare routines, and medications.
  • Assist with dermatologic treatments such as cryotherapy, phototherapy, and minor dermatologic procedures (e.g., biopsy, excisions).
  • Monitor patients during procedures and treatments, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Administer prescribed medications, including topical treatments and injections, under the supervision of the dermatologists.
  • Provide emotional support to both children and families, helping alleviate anxiety associated with dermatologic procedures.

• Clinical Support:

  • Prepare patients for exams and assist dermatologists during consultations and procedures.
  • Document patient history, treatments, and follow-up plans accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Follow clinic protocols and guidelines for infection control, patient safety, and privacy standards.
  • Participate in patient care planning and follow-up care to ensure continuity of treatment.

• Patient Education:

  • Educate families on proper skincare practices, treatment options, and how to manage common pediatric skin conditions (e.g., eczema, acne, psoriasis).
  • Provide resources for managing long-term dermatologic conditions and educate about triggers and prevention strategies.

• Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with dermatologists, medical assistants, and office staff to ensure efficient clinic operations and positive patient outcomes.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to improving patient care practices and clinic efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of [State].
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with pediatric or dermatology nursing experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of pediatric dermatology conditions and treatments is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, families, and healthcare teams.
• Ability to provide compassionate care in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Current CPR and BLS certification.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.

Schedule: 

Monday-Friday 8:00pm-5:00pm (3 Days in Newport Beach and 2 Days in Orange )
