Job Details:
Are you a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse with experience in the operating room? We are seeking a Surgical Services RN to join our dynamic team under the supervision of the Director of Surgery. This role offers the opportunity to deliver exceptional nursing care in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. As a Surgical Services RN, you will play a crucial role in planning, coordinating, and managing patient care, ensuring the highest standards of practice and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care Management: Plan, delegate, and coordinate nursing care for assigned patients, ensuring adherence to care standards and practices.
Surgical Preparation: Prepare for surgeries, perform the circulating role, and assist the physician as needed in the scrub role.
Team Supervision: Oversee and make assignments for LPNs, ORTs/CSTs, Nursing Assistants, and secretaries; review work for accuracy and completeness.
Medication Administration: Prepare and administer medications as ordered, and supervise the administration of medications within the sterile field.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records by completing all necessary documentation, including charge mechanisms and patient information transfers.
Safety and Compliance: Follow and enforce safety and infection control policies, maintain emergency supplies, and respond appropriately to emergency situations.
Operational Readiness: Ensure the surgical department is consistently prepared for patient care, restock rooms as assigned, and notify appropriate personnel when supplies are low.
Qualifications:
License: Valid SC Nursing License required.
Experience: Prior operating room (OR) experience is essential.
Skills: Demonstrate proficiency in patient care for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations, and the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
