Role Responsibilities:

  • In conjunction with the Interdisciplinary team, oversee the care of all the residents on his/her neighborhood.
  • Creates and maintains a work environment that promotes and fosters a resident centered care model with a team approach.
  • Initiates and completes all investigations of incidents on unit within five (5) calendar days of discovery. May assign designee in his/her absence. Ensures that proper documentation is completed. Keeps Nursing Administration aware of all investigations and submits completed investigations to Nursing Administration.
  • Ensure work schedules are completed for all team members according to approved budgetary guidelines.
  • Oversees and contributes to recording of all documentation on unit including intake and output, weights, ambulation logs, etc.
  • Monitors the units (by making "rounds", conducting audits, or completing surveys, etc.) to assure that all personnel are utilizing appropriate techniques regarding accident/incident prevention; sanitation; infection control; fire safety; disaster preparedness and emergency care. Informs Administration, Nursing Administration, Infection Control Team, or other appropriate people of concerns.

Qualified RN candidates will have:

  • Graduate of a State approved school of nursing, Associate's/Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Has current license as Registered Nurse in New York State.
  • At least one year experience in a Long-Term Care supervisory/manager capacity preferred.
  • Demonstrates organizational and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Infection Control Policies and Procedures.
  • Ability to make decisions independently within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act.
