Job Description:

Elitecare Medical Staffing seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team. The ideal candidate will have experience in triage, labor and delivery, and postpartum care, committed to providing high-quality care for mothers and newborns.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive nursing care in a 4-bed Labor and Delivery unit, adhering to AWHONN guidelines for patient ratios.
Utilize one of the L D rooms for triage, managing patients throughout labor and delivery processes.
Monitor and manage a variety of common diagnoses, including term labor, gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes, and newborn care.
Conduct newborn stabilization and care for infants 35 weeks and above; coordinate with neonatal transport for infants under 35 weeks.
Titrate medications as needed, including Pitocin, Magnesium, insulin, and TXA.
Collaborate with charge nurses who ideally do not take patient assignments but assist with staffing and coordination.
Work with nursing aids who assist on the unit during 12-hour shifts.
Respond to on-call situations with OB/neonatologists and anesthesia as needed.
Utilize GE monitors for Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) and Obix for documentation.

Qualifications:

Current RN licensure and required certifications (BLS, NRP); AWHONN EFM (intermediate or advanced), stable, and ACLS preferred.
Experience in labor and delivery, recovery, postpartum care, and newborn stabilization is essential; charge experience is highly preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple priorities.

Additional Information:

The unit has no dedicated OR suites for C-sections; these are managed in a separate OR facility.
Anesthesia and OB/neonatologists are available on-call 24/7.
Shifts are scheduled as 12 hours, providing continuity of care for patients.
