Elitecare Medical Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care nursing and be committed to providing high-quality patient care.
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in a 6-bed ICU unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3, depending on acuity.
- Monitor, read, and interpret cardiac strips using GE and Phillips monitors; RNs are responsible for their own readings.
- Titrate drips as needed, including sedation (e.g., Propofol), pressors (Levo, Norepinephrine, Dopamine), insulin, and Cardizem.
- Manage patients with various diagnoses, including sepsis, COPD, CHF, suicide attempts, drug overdoses, and atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response.
- Float to Acute Care or ER as needed, taking on full or partial assignments and providing task-based support or 1:1 care.
- Collaborate with charge nurses and other staff to ensure efficient unit operations; the charge nurse does not take a patient assignment.
- Work alongside 2-3 nurse aides per shift in the ICU, shared with Acute Care.
- Coordinate with Tele-nocturnist and Tele-intensivist for patient care management.
- Utilize RT services available 24/7 for respiratory support including heated high flow, CPAP, BiPAP, and Drager vents.
- Current RN licensure and required certifications (ACLS, BLS).
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in an ICU or critical care setting.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to manage complex patient needs effectively.
- Experience with titratable drips and critical care protocols.
- The unit may require flexibility to float to Acute Care or ER based on patient needs.
- Night shifts are 12 hours long, providing continuity of care for patients.
If you are passionate about providing exceptional care in a critical setting and looking for an opportunity to grow in a supportive environment, we encourage you to apply!
