Overview / Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Welding Faculty member to join our team for a 9-month appointment. This role involves the instruction of students in various welding techniques and practices, focusing on safety, skills development, and industry standards. The faculty member will be responsible for creating a positive learning environment that fosters student success and encourages personal and professional growth.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:
- Teach courses in welding technology, including but not limited to MIG, TIG, Stick welding, and fabrication techniques.
- Develop and update curriculum to align with industry standards, ensuring the program stays relevant to current market demands.
- Assess student performance through practical evaluations, hands-on demonstrations, and theoretical examinations, providing timely feedback to support student learning.
- Supervise lab activities, ensuring safe and effective use of equipment and materials, and fostering a culture of safety among students.
- Engage in professional development activities to maintain current knowledge in welding technologies, industry trends, and instructional methodologies.
- Collaborate with local industry partners to promote internship opportunities and job placement for students, helping bridge the gap between education and workforce.
Requirements
Education:
- Associates Degree from a nationally or regionally accredited college (In exceptional cases, documented experience may be used for initial employment. Faculty must develop and pursue a professional development plan to include an Associate Degree). Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience & Skills:
- Four years or the equivalent of four years full-time work experience in the industry.
- Qualifications required for mandatory program accreditation.
- American Welding Society (AWS) certification
- Extensive experience with following preferred:
- Oxygen Acetylene Welding & Cutting
- Shielded Metal Arc Welding
- Gas Metal Arc Welding
- Gas Tungsten AVC Welding
- Fabrication & Design
- Materials & Testing
- Blueprint Reading
