SUMMARY:

A Team Lead serves as the primary resource for all production team members within their respective production team. Responsibilities include maintaining and enhancing operations by coaching, instructing and coordinating production activities with the Area Lead, the Production Manager & Production Coordinator, and Safety and Quality personnel to reach desired metrics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safety & Environment: Ensures team participation and compliance with safety and environmental rules and training.
  • Quality: Ensures quality output from team members, flags quality issues, resolves quality issues immediately. If it is not possible to immediately resolve the issue, quarantines the order and escalates the issue to the Area Lead or to the Quality Team.
  • Delivery: Ensures production schedule is being met. Works with Area Lead to request materials, tools, information or additional resourced when needed to meet schedule requirements.
  • Productivity: Reviewed resources that are available and needed to meet production schedule and works with Area Lead to balance workforce across the plant. Reviews needs and communicates wit the team regarding overtime.
  • Ensures equipment is in proper working order. Owns Preventive Maintenance on area equipment and requests work orders from Maintenance personnel when required for repairs.
  • Assigns jobs to team members based on team member's training and ability, while meeting the needs of the production schedule and ensuring material flow across departments
  • Responsible to ensure that all parts are tagged properly when in their department and when leaving the department
  • Responsible for all jobs being completed and parts claimed in the computer system with time required and any rework or scrap.
  • Responsible for ensuring that hours are logged in the computer systems for all team members working in the department.

  • Working production jobs

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.


Education and/or Experience:

Expected: Six months to one year related experience and/or training.


Communication Skills:

  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Other Skills:

  • Corrected vision and dexterous use of both hands.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • This is strenuous work requiring good corrected vision, balance, standing continuously for periods of up to 5 hours, and repetitive stooping, kneeling, reaching, pinching and lifting.
