Mercedes-Benz of Salem is looking for talented individuals to help our growing service business. Our Cashier will have the opportunity to interact with thousands of Customers. This role requires someone who is passionate about taking care of the Customer and helping them turn an unpleasant event into a positive experience.

The Cashier/Accounting Clerk assists customers who are picking up serviced vehicles by providing the invoice to the customer, answering questions, and resolving concerns.  This includes processing payments for work completed or purchase of parts/accessories.  Acts as the final interface with the customer. 

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure the efficient operation of the telephone switchboard, answering diverting calls in a professional manner
  2. Greets all customers promptly, provides timely, professional service
  3. Provides excellent customer service by listening to customer inquiries and requests and asking questions to ensure understanding of needs
  4. Ensures invoice totals are accurate
  5. Monitors cash flow of Parts/Service Department
  6. Prepare outgoing mail; determine affix appropriate postage. Route incoming mail to appropriate parties.
  7. Reconciling cash receipts and deposits

 

The Cashier must be an effective communicator. The Cashier serves customers by establishing rapport, building customer confidence, providing accurate information, and promoting product through point of successful sale. Establishes a professional, yet personalized rapport with customer upon contact; by phone or in person.  They must have a fair amount of computer skills, and place a high emphasis on attention to detail. On top of those things, he/she should be organized, analytical, energetic and capable of finding solutions to problems.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School degree or equivalent required
  • Some college preferred

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Prefer 2 or more years of experience working with a multi-line phone system.
  • Previous experience working in a busy office environment preferred.
  • Experience with CDK (ADP) a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent follow-through skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Pay: DOE
