Job Summary:

The Automotive Cashier is responsible for processing customer payments, managing cash registers, and providing excellent customer service in an automotive dealership or repair shop setting. This role involves handling financial transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities:
  1. Transaction Processing:

    • Accurately process cash, credit card, and check transactions using a cash register or point-of-sale (POS) system.
    • Issue receipts, refunds, or exchanges as needed.
    • Reconcile cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, ensuring accurate cash handling.
  2. Customer Service:

    • Greet customers warmly and assist them with payment and billing inquiries.
    • Address customer concerns or issues related to transactions promptly and professionally.
    • Provide information about dealership services, promotions, and policies.
  3. Duties:

    • Perform clerical tasks such as data entry and filing
    • Assist in scheduling appointments for service or repairs as needed.
  4. Additional Duties:

    • Support other departments as needed, including assisting with service writers, parts counters, or other administrative tasks.
    • Stay updated on dealership promotions, service offerings, and new products to effectively communicate with customers.
  5. Qualifications:
    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Some post-secondary education in business or finance is a plus.
    • Experience: Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred, particularly in an automotive or retail environment.
    • Skills:
      • Strong numerical and mathematical skills for accurate transaction handling.
      • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
      • Proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures.
      • Ability to manage time effectively and work in a fast-paced environment.
      • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  6. Working Conditions:
    • Environment: Work is performed in a dealership or repair shop setting, with exposure to various automotive parts and equipment.
    • Hours: May include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
  7. Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
    • Capable of handling cash and financial documents.
