Salary:

Alaska Park, LLC is recruiting for a regular, full-time Cashier. This position will report to the General Manager of Alaska Park.


JOB SUMMARY:

This position will utilize quality customer service and greet all customers pleasantly and with courtesy. This position will also provide visitors with all directions, provide all information regarding promotions, etc. as well as receive payment from customers for parking services and facilitates other duties as required.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for being at work every scheduled day, as well as on time.
  • Count “bank” of revenue at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure total is correct.
  • Collect cash and validations and maintain security of cash.
  • Makes change and/or issue receipts or tickets to customers for each transaction.
  • Compute or recalculate bill from tickets showing amount due from customer.
  • Operate cash register after time calculation (manually or by machine) and calculate cost of transaction.
  • Quote prices for parking services for which money is received.
  • Give directions to customers for various locations in the city.
  • Complete lost ticket forms when original tickets cannot be located.
  • Address customer complaints independently or with the aid of a supervisor.
  • Answer telephones and greet customers in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness of lobby and pick up trash in surrounding areas.
  • Conduct timely checks to see if a proper inventory of necessary work aids and supplies are located in the work area.
  • Verifies log of shift transactions against “bank” of revenue on hand. (blind drops...count till to original starting amount and drop the remaining amount in safe)
  • Compile “bank” of collected revenue during the day once a pre-determined amount of money has been collected.
  • Record amounts received, cars in and out of facility, cars left in a facility (if applicable) while preparing shift report of transactions.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous customer service experience or training as cashier preferred.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using all units of measure; using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Must be able to count and make change on cash transactions.
  • Must be able to use a clock (standard and military/24-hour time), calculator (optional), and credit card machine to handle transactions.


COMPETENCIES:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Must be able to write correspondence, and present in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, supervisors, and other employees of the organization.
  • Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out standard written or verbal instructions and must be able to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to stand or sit for a period of 8 hours.
  • Must be able to withstand working for long periods of time outside in varying elements of seasonal and inclement weather.
  • Must be able to walk either inside or outside for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to free lift up to 30 pounds.
