Lifeguard - Seasonal May - September
About the Opportunity:

What you'll be doing:
- Keep a watchful eye on the swimmers in water
- Monitor pool activities (no games of chicken)
- Have that rescue tube and whistle ready at all times while on duty
- Ensure that guests NOT in the water stay safe on the pool deck
- Help keep the pool/pool deck neat and tidy
- Balance keeping everyone safe while also making them feel welcome
- Embrace and model the JCC Internal Service Standards of Respect, Gratitude, Communication, The Golden Rule, and Ownership/Accountability
What you bring to the table:
- High school diploma (preferred)
- Current American Red Cross lifeguard certification, CPR/AED for the professional rescuer (required)
- Must be at least 15 years of age
- Strong swimming skills
- Ability to see and hear members, alert staff and communicate effectively
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

Seasonal Bonus:
Lifeguard Bonus Requirements: Bonus(es) will be paid out after Labor Day, or in the last paycheck, whichever comes first. Lifeguards can earn each bonus tier, up to $1,000.
- $200 - Work Memorial Day weekend through June and a minimum of 140 hours.
- $300 - Work in July and a minimum of 140 hours.
- $500 - Work August through Labor Day and a minimum of 140 hours.

Work Environment:
Mobility is a must as you climb in and out of all guard chairs, stand and sit for long periods of time and get in and out of the pool as needed. Extended exposure to sunlight and outdoor elements as well as warm and humid indoor environment is expected. Position works independently and without supervision for long periods of time. Handling and exposure to chlorine and other pool chemicals required. Must be able to lift 100 pounds.
