Midwest Refrigerated Services is a full-service 3PL company providing refrigerated logistics services for the food industry. Based in Milwaukee, WI, we operate the largest fresh 48 state LTL consolidation pool with more than 100+ trucks, and offer multiple sites with cooler, and air-conditioned storage, distribution, and cross-docking services. We operate refrigerated and non-refrigerated warehouses for storage needs but also Value-Added Services such as specialty packing, kitting, and fulfillment needs. The Warehouse Supervisor is directly responsible for all activities of the employees reporting to them. The supervisor will be responsible for either the day or night team that operates the warehouse. Supervisor ensures the following: safe work environment, exceptional sanitation. Fair and professional treatment of all associates, quality and quantity of work performed and customer relations.

General Accountabilities include:

  • Direct Supervision of Shipping Office Staff
  • Assure that All MRS Policies & Procedures are Followed
  • Resolve Customer, Carrier & Driver Issues
  • OS & D Claim Resolution
  • Accessorial Charge Documentation
  • Administer Discipline → When Necessary
  • Monitoring & Adherence to Benchmarking Standards
  • System Issue Resolution
  • Provide Input on Hire/Fire Decisions
  • Participate in Off-hours Meetings/Trainings
  • Participate in incident Investigations
  • Expected to Help Cover other Supervisors’ Vacations & PTO
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Skills Required:

  • Basic computer & math skills
  • Ability to read/write in English
  • Ability to follow & give instructions effectively
  • Ability to function & lead effectively in a team & fast paced environment
  • Ability to work with different levels of management

Prerequisites:

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Experience operating forklift or pallet jack
  • Previous experience managing teams in a warehouse environment (preferred)
  • Previous experience with RF Controlled Inventory Systems
  • Previous experience handling food products (a plus)
