The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for the efficient operation of the warehouse with particular emphasis on the receiving department and its associates while achieving daily production goals. The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for maintaining consistent and efficient results that meet the desired quality and standard of Southwest FAD. This role will ensure that all aspects of the receiving function are completed in an accurate and prompt manner by implementing, coordinating, and applying operational and personnel guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliance with operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, and shipping of products
  • Supervise the activities of employees engaged in receiving, storing, and shipping products or materials
  • Manages and ensures successful achievement of performance goals of the receiving department
  • Provides leadership, feedback, coaching, guidance, and recognition to enhance the receiving teams skill development
  • Direct and manage a team of warehouse associates to achieve timely distribution and receipt of products and motivate employees to ensure productivity and quality standards are achieved.
  • Prepare and Review tasks and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Supervises all inbound shipments to ensure they are correct and carried out in a timely fashion
  • Conducts the daily pre-shift meetings covering previous shifts’ productivity, operational problems, forecasting workload, and any other pertinent company information
  • Monitor site productivity standards and hold associates accountable to daily, weekly, monthly metrics; provide timely feedback and initiate corrective action when needed.
  • Responsible for compiling, assessing, and presenting comprehensive inventory reporting/data showing patterns, inventory needs, and availability to Leadership to ensure business targets are achieved
  • Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and orders placed
  • Assists with physical inventory audits as permitted
  • Train department personnel to be technically and professionally competent.
  • Ensure accurate inventory records by conducting and organizing physical counts and reconciling them with data storage systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management or related field a plus
  • 2+ years’ experience in warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, inventory and quality control
  • 2+ years’ supervisory experience within a distribution center, high-volume retailer, manufacturer, or production environment
  • Valid Driving License
  • Prior demonstrated experience managing a team of hourly associates in a fast-paced production, distribution, manufacturing, retail or similar environment
  • Experience coaching and guiding employees
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated business communication skills, verbal and written, required
  • Experience with operational process and team development preferred
  • Excellent computer skills and aptitude
  • Self-directed, motivated and goal-oriented with a strong sense of urgency
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Able to dissect a problem and present a realistic solution
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, NetSuite experience is a plus.
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in high demand and urgent situations
  • Experience supporting multi-location warehousing and distribution, helping support a performance culture
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Maintains a collaborative, team relationship with direct reports, peers, and colleagues in order to contribute to the group’s achievement of goals effectively and to help foster a positive work environment
  • Demonstrates a willingness to accept change and new approaches, including additional responsibilities
