Job Summary:
With reporting responsibilities to the Operations Manager, this position is directly responsible for performing and managing essential rail functions in a safety sensitive and production environment. To include; Rail Operations, load out/wash out operations, and Performing Light Maintenance, Training new staff when requested, Record keeping and Communication of issues with Management. Additional duties and responsibilities may be added or deleted at any time.

Supervisory Responsibility:
Expected to performing essential rail functions in a safety sensitive and production environment in and around the process plant, transload yard and railyard.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Four-day block Rotation schedule Day and Night Shifts. Day shift scheduled times are 5:00 am to 3:30 pm and Night shift scheduled times are 5:00 pm to 3:30 am. Shifts are subject to the modification/adjustment based the site workload and production scheduled rates.
Travel:
Little to no travel is expected for this position.
Compensation:
$24.00 per hour, non-exempt.

Essential Functions/Duties:
Loadout/Washout Operations
- Maintain consumable inventory control for all hopper car loading operations (i.e., seals, hatch cover filters, outlet seals, etc. supplied by INEOS)
- Coordinate, Schedule and supervise all maintenance of loadout, wash and rail department equipment.
- Daily Documented Pellet Control Survey, clean up and Inspection.
- Weekly Rail Scale Inspection
- Weight car verification.
- Washout of hopper cars prior to loading per plant and ISO operational procedures.
- Inspection of empty hopper car before washing.
- Safe Operation of vacuum system if heel is present.
- Safe Operation of hopper car wash system.
- Operation of drying system.
- Documentation of proper washing procedural process.
- Update washed car information into plant DCS Software Program.
- Load all PP production into hopper cars per plant and ISO operational procedures.
- Operate Loadout Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) computer
- Confirm “Clean Car” Railcar ID matches applicable Seal numbers into DCS software program.
- Safe operation of the Fuller – Full load system.
- Apply hatch bonnets, filters and Security Seals.
- Record Tare “Empty” and Heavy “Loaded” Weight of Hopper car in the DCS software program.
- Documentation of proper loading procedural process.
- Management of all railcar washing and loading activities.
- Coordinate, supervise and control all work function and staff relating to the operations of the Loadout & Washout facilities.
- Accurately verify and update track walk report
- Verify and complete Inbound and Outbound daily inspection reports
- Update railcar log report
- Safely plan, coordinate and execute rail movements with the rail crew
- Communicate with local rail road, refinery rail crew and operations on daily service updates as needed
- Coordinate with Transload team assigned railcars to Bulk Trucking.
Required Education and Experience
- Minimum education required is a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous rail and or refinery experience is preferred.
- Must be able to safely operate and pass the site Rail King and Rail Systems Training courses.
- Must have the ability to think independently and make decisions that are in the company’s best interest.
- Must have excellent interpersonal, communications, and organizational skills.
- Must be multi-task oriented with the ability to handle many activities simultaneously.
- Must be able to work overtime, long hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to perform physical labor such as; lifting up to 55 lbs., moving up to 250 pounds, climbing ladders, operate control panels and working with hand tools.
- Must be able use fingers, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and/or hear.
- Employee must possess vision abilities required by this job function to include close visual confirmation of finely printed documents, have distance vision to safely and correctly identify objects and or markings.
- Must have peripheral vision
- Previous rail and or refinery experience is preferred.

- Principles of Petroleum Refining Training Certification
- Rail King certification
- Rail Systems Training Manual Certification
- Ability to work independently and as part of team
- Ability to recognize onsite risk factors and take appropriate action with firmness and tact
- Must have excellent interpersonal, communications, and organizational skills.
- Must be multi-task oriented with the ability to handle many activities simultaneously.

Supervisory Responsibility:
- Responsible for overseeing rail crew as assigned
- Participate in Site Safety Programs
- Participate and or assist in external/internal site or company audits
