Company Overview Ameritex Machine and Fabrication is a high mix, quick turn, and ISO 9001 2015 certified sheet metal and structural fabrication facility that uses a variety of equipment such as CNC Fiber Lasers, CNC punch presses, CNC press brakes, and tube lasers to support multiple assembly lines. As a rapid parts manufacturer, our company serves customers in energy, power generation, oil and gas, automotive, electric vehicle, and aerospace. We operate out of a state of the art 100,000 sqft facility in Conroe, Texas. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Metal Fabrication Supervisor with extensive knowledge in welding and production line management. The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of our metal fabrication department, ensuring efficient production processes, high-quality output, and adherence to safety standards. A Fabrication Supervisor at Ameritex will play a crucial role in business development, account management, sales, and customer service. A successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. The position will require competencies that include familiarity in 2D and 3D CAD (drawings and models), knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication methods, and competency communicating sheet metal design for manufacturability feedback with customers. Key Responsibilities: · Supervise and coordinate the activities of the metal fabrication team, including welders, machinists, and assemblers. · Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. · Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of welding and fabrication equipment. · Monitor production processes, identifying and implementing improvements to optimize efficiency and reduce waste. · Train, mentor, and evaluate team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. · Collaborate with engineering and design teams to resolve technical issues and ensure product specifications are met. · Enforce safety protocols and compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. · Maintain accurate production records and reports, ensuring timely communication with management. · Manage inventory of raw materials, tools, and consumables, coordinating with the procurement department as needed. · Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime. Qualifications: · High school diploma or equivalent. · Minimum of 5 years of experience in metal fabrication, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. · Proficient in various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) and familiarity with welding codes and standards. · Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes, equipment, and tools. · Proven ability to manage production lines and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. · Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. · Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. · Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. · Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to metal fabrication. · Proficient in using computer software for production tracking and reporting. Preferred Qualifications: · A college, technical, or trade school degree · Certification in welding or metal fabrication. · Experience with project management, time management, and continuous improvement methodologies. · Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems. Working Conditions: · Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and welding fumes. · Must be able to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. · Requires standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods.
