Talent Depot is partnering with a regional public accounting firm that is seeking an experienced Tax Supervisor to join their Fairfax office. Our regional public accounting firm is hiring an experienced Tax Supervisor for our Fairfax, VA office. This role is ideal for a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over four years of public accounting experience and strong expertise in tax research, preparation, and compliance. The Tax Supervisor will handle complex tax filings for a diverse client base, including manufacturing, construction, non-profit, and employee benefit plans, and will play a vital role in ensuring compliance and optimizing tax outcomes for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Tax Preparation and Review: Prepare and review tax returns, including individual (1040), corporate, partnership, estate, trusts, and multi-state returns, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Tax Research and Compliance: Conduct detailed tax research to support accurate filings and advise clients on tax-saving strategies and compliance.
  • Client Consultation: Provide strategic tax insights and support to clients across multiple sectors, including manufacturing, construction, non-profit, and employee benefit plans.
  • Technology Utilization: Use Excel and, preferably, CCH ProSystems or Axcess for data management and tax documentation, ensuring efficient and accurate record-keeping.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the accounting team to optimize tax preparation processes and ensure consistent high-quality client service.


Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 4+ years in public accounting with a focus on tax preparation and review.
  • Certification: Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel; experience with CCH ProSystems or Axcess is preferred.
  • Tax Expertise: Strong experience in tax research and preparation, specifically with 1040, corporate, partnership, estate, trust, and multi-state returns.
Work Schedule:
  • Shift Hours: This position requires onsite work Monday – Friday for the first 90 days. After this period, the role transitions to a hybrid model, with the option for 1-2 days remote work per week.
