Location: Middlebury, VT (in-person required)
Salary: $78,700 – $118,100 per year
Signing Bonus: $15,000 (paid in three installments)
Relocation Package: Up to $9,200 (subject to applicable taxes)
Travel: Not required

What You'll Be Doing

As the Radiology Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of the radiology department while also maintaining clinical responsibilities, such as vacation and call-out coverage. You will be instrumental in ensuring the department functions efficiently and provides excellent care to patients. You will supervise a team of radiologic technologists, manage scheduling, and help maintain optimal inventory levels.

Your role includes supervising a newly unionized department and managing equipment upgrades, including the recent installation of a Hologic 3D mammography unit and planned upgrades to bone density equipment. You will work closely with the Radiology Director, providing leadership and ensuring the department meets its goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and complex imaging tests across various modalities, including General Radiography, Fluoroscopy, DXA, Mammography, CT, and OR Imaging.
  • Supervise radiology staff, delegate tasks, and manage shift schedules.
  • Act as a liaison between staff and the Radiology Director, ensuring smooth communication and day-to-day operations.
  • Oversee inventory management, ensuring adequate supply levels and ordering as needed.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure the highest standard of care.
  • Coordinate staffing to meet departmental needs, adjusting for coverage on vacation and call-outs.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the department's equipment, including CT Philips ingenuity 64-slice scanner, MRI, ultrasound, and Hologic 3D mammography.
  • Engage in hands-on clinical duties when necessary to cover staffing shortages.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment while maintaining departmental goals.
Ideal Candidate

Education:

  • Certificate and/or Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology required.

Certifications:

  • ARRT(R) certification required.
  • Additional certification in CT or Mammography is required.
  • Eligible for radiologic technologist licensure in Vermont.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of radiology experience.
  • 1+ year of supervisory experience.
  • Experience in a unionized setting is a plus.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and navigate conflicting priorities.
  • Solid knowledge of radiology equipment and imaging technologies.
  • Experience with Epic EMR and Visage PACS is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to make decisions related to quality control and daily operations.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care.
