POSITION SUMMARY:
Supervises all aspects of the Imaging Department with a high level of competency and professionalism. He or She is expected to maintain high standards of technical competence on whatever modality he/she is certified within the radiology department. He or She must be an example and assist other personnel and student radiographers within the department. He or She is responsible for maintaining and stocking supplies, rooms, and equipment. Must demonstrate good organizational skills in order to maintain an efficient workflow and adaptability in accommodating emergencies and add-on exams. He or She is expected to manage and address disciplinary actions with the staff on their designated shifts. Technologists are required to participate in on-call coverage for the modality as part of the essentials of the job requirement. He or She must have a valid license and requirements depending on employee certification and/or specialty within any of the Radiology modalities. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements Required licensures/certifications
Graduate of a Radiologic Technology Program and/or any Other Modality within Radiology Departments.
ARRT Registered (Mammo)
Current Florida License
Current BLS Certification
Minimum of two (2) years' experience in General Radiology, preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years' Mammo Leadership experience in General Radiology, preferred.
Skills and Abilities
Excellent Customer Service Skills in order to project a positive image of the department and hospital.
Experience
Must have a good working knowledge of anatomy and imaging protocols to obtain clearly defined images and good studies. Must be able to set up and operate all types of equipment that will be used within any of the radiology modalities depending on specialty. Must know how to process images in a PACS environment. Should have sufficient knowledge of psychology, patient care, and sterile techniques to deal with all types of patients' conditions. Two (2) years' experience within the certified modality/specialty. Minimum of (1) year Radiology Supervisor experience preferred.
