Job Description
Position Summary:
The Sports Management & Talent Acquisition Intern will support ESF's Talent Operations Team and Pro Team Sports Programs. Responsibilities include assisting with recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and background checks, along with pre-camp preparation and onsite camp work during the summer.
Location:
- ESF Headquarters, Bryn Mawr, PA
- In-person, with occasional hybrid work possible
- During camp season: Onsite with Pro Team Sports camp programs
Hours & Compensation:
- This is a 6-7 month paid internship (January/February to August 2025).
- 20-30 hours per week initially, increasing to 35-40 hours per week from March to August.
- Additional hours or extended employment may be available based on staffing needs.
Talent Operations Responsibilities (January/February – June)
- Promote ESF Summer Camps, Pro Team Sports Camps, and BOLD pre-college programs to prospective and returning candidates through phone, email, and in-person outreach.
- Assist with sourcing and recruiting efforts to expand the candidate pool for roles such as counselors, coaches, aquatics staff, teachers, and medical staff.
- Serve as a resource for prospective candidates, providing information and promoting ESF's team member value proposition.
- Support the onboarding process for new and returning team members.
- Participate in sourcing campaigns at schools, colleges/universities, and other organizations.
- Assist with hiring and onboarding tasks, including background checks, I-9 forms, health forms, clearances, and other compliance documentation.
- Prepare for and attend career fairs, training sessions, and related events.
- Follow up with prospective candidates, helping them complete applications and schedule interviews.
- Conduct research and provide administrative support for the Talent Operations team.
- Participate in weekly team meetings to share best practices and identify areas for improvement
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Sales & Marketing with Pro Team Sports (January/February – June):
3-5 hours per week (estimated)
- Collaborate with the VP of Pro Sports to support sales initiatives.
- Assist in developing partnerships with schools, leagues, corporations, nonprofits, and other organizations to create new sales opportunities.
- Manage and deploy email campaigns to camp families both after and after camp weeks.
- Contribute to the design of marketing materials that enhance program branding.
- Work with the Marketing team on research, grassroots outreach, and marketing materials.
- Participate in promotional events and customer service activities, including Open Houses, Camp Fairs, and Family Orientations.
- Effectively use ESF’s online enrollment and lead tracking system to manage customer info.
Camp Responsibilities (June – August)
- Support onboarding and background checks for Pro Team Sports.
- Serve as an Administrative Specialist at Jr. 76ers Camps, both day and overnight camps. This includes administrative support and customer service functions.
- Assist with summer payroll for Pro Team Sports in coordination with the Finance Team.
- Contribute to end-of-summer projects related to staffing, enrollment, marketing, and camp operations.

Qualifications:
- Must be an undergraduate student at a minimum.
- Experience in sports management/marketing and customer service or sales experience in a high-volume phone/email environment will be considered.
- Preferred experience in sourcing or recruiting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities
- Able to work independently and problem-solve in an office setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
- Adaptability in handling unpredictable situations
- Attention to detail and strong follow-through.
- Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach to tasks
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems or similar databases is preferred.
- Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, are a plus.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- This position requires considerable time spent working on a computer and speaking to candidates and other recruiting contacts over the phone.
