The local Soccer Shots franchise, called Soccer Shots Central Indiana, has existed for 12 years. Our office is located in Carmel, IN. The company is owned by Kristen and Kevin Rebholz. The company offers year-round Soccer Shots programs at nearly 90 locations, serves over 7,500 participants each year and employs over a dozen staff members.

With supervision from the Admin & Event Coordinator, the student intern will be exposed to a successful franchise system and the inner workings of a small business while increasing proficiency in delivering an athletic program to youth.
Academic and Experiential Objectives:
The student intern will be required to handle and present him/herself in a professional manner, consistently arriving on time to assigned office hours, soccer sessions, and events. Intern will be expected to assist in the overall execution of a Soccer Shots season and will gain knowledge in scheduling, hiring, and the management side of the business. The student intern will also participate in instructing Soccer Shots sessions, giving the intern experience in coaching youth and working with parents and directors of childcare centers.
Obtaining Academic/College Credit:
This internship experience may or may not already be an approved academic credit internship with your school. Please make sure to notify us immediately if you are seeking academic credit through your school for this experience. With your help, Soccer Shots will work directly with your schools registrar, your academic advisor, or your schools internship/career department TO ALLOW THIS INTERNSHIP EXPERIENCE TO COUNT FOR ACADEMIC CREDIT.

A performance evaluation will occur at the conclusion of the internship experience. The evaluation will consider the following general areas of professional operations and specific intern goals within each area:
Internship Structure and Compensation:
The Soccer Shots internship will depend on the season of the internship. In general, it will encompass a 15-30 hour work week for a 12-to-15-week period. Internship seasons are as follows:
The internship will include 12-16 consecutive work weeks at 15-30 hours a week for the duration of the internship. The number of hours may vary per week and can be determined by supervisors and the interns schedules. Please communicate if you need to adjust your amount of hours and we will be happy to talk that through with you.
During the first four weeks of the internship, the intern will be working closely with the Event & Administrative Coordinator preparing for the upcoming season running demos, organize promotional materials for coaches, and preparing jerseys for distribution. Once the season starts, the interns focus will shift to executing and organizing everything needed for successful summer camps, execute soccer sessions each week (number of sessions, sites, and times TBD), and support other coaches. Session timeframes include sessions during the daytime (8:00am-5:00pm) and possibly sessions on weeknights (4:00pm 7:30pm), and/or Saturday mornings (9:00 am 12:30pm). Intern may have events to execute and manage on weeknights or weekends.
The intern will be compensated based on number of hours assigned to internship. The intern will be paid $10 per hour for administrative work and $17/session for sessions they are the lead coach ($12/session when assisting). Sessions will be scheduled within close proximity of the interns residence, if possible. A $20 weekly gas reimbursement is included.
The internship position is eligible for NPS Remarkables Bonus (from survey of parents). If intern is mentioned by name, in a positive NPS review, they receive $10 per remarkable comment.

- Assist in the overall execution of the scheduled Soccer Shots season
- Organize and execute all summer camps (summer only)
- Coach sessions throughout the season/master back-up for sessions
- Run demos and attend promo events
- Participate in management of customer question portal, Listen360 NPS survey responses, and general customer service via email/phone
HIRING/HR:
- Prepare hiring binders for current and future hires
- Prepare for new hires (uniform, equipment, prizes, coach picture, etc)
- Create Meet your Coach sheets
- Possible participation in interviews for future intern candidates
EVENT PLANNING:
- Organize, promote, and execute seasonal events (Spring - Super Soccer Saturdays; Summer - OrangeFest; Fall - Purdue Collegiate Soccer Day and Ghosts & Ghoalies Halloween Fest)
- Find volunteers to help run events
- Create event logistics plans, gather necessary event items, solicit event donations, set-up event vendors, etc.
- Organize, promote, and execute events
- Plan and execute one community outreach project
ADMINISTRATIVE/SUPPORT:
- Organize and distribute enrollment forms and promotional materials to coaches
- Prepare and distribute jerseys to coaches, as well as seasonal prizes and certificates
- Data entry
- Inventory management
- Execute marketing for events
- Prepare seasonal newsletters
- Prepare and execute player of the season profiles and emails
- Prepare and execute team photo emails
- Participate in all seasonal staff meetings and social events
- Prepare and execute creative posts for social media, highlighting local Soccer Shots team and experience
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
- Attend leadership team meetings, as needed
- Attend weekly 1-1 meetings with HR & Administrative Coordinator
- Read two leadership/management/business related books: 1) Traction and gain an understanding of EOS 2) Intern's choice
- Learn GiANT Worldwide leadership tools
- Participate in meetings with leadership team members to gain a better understanding of their roles within the company
- Prepare presentations, as required, and present to leadership team
- Submit final report to Soccer Shots on your internship experience
