Responsibilities:

Job Summary:

Under direction and supervision of the Physical Therapist provides appropriate rehabilitation treatment and/or maintenance therapy program as assigned. Follows established legal state and federal standards and practices.

Essential Functions:

  • As per the individual resident plan designed by the Physical Therapist provides modalities to the patient in accordance with physical therapy standards.
  • Observes records and reports patients condition and reaction to treatment in accordance with physical therapy standards.
  • Schedules patients for sessions within their daily activities after consultation with nursing staff.
  • Removes and replaces braces splints and slings from patient bodies before and after treatment.
  • Maintains safety standards for protection of patients assisting personnel and self.
  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Required Minimum Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of organizational policies regulations and procedures to administer patient care.
  • Knowledge of physical therapy and medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Incumbent should be able to apply method methods and techniques of on-going physical therapy care as assigned identify problems and recommend solutions prepare and maintain records as well as establish and maintain effective work relationships with patients fellow employees medical staff and the public.
  • Incumbent should be able to maintain quality control standards react calmly and effectively in difficult situations.
  • Interpret adapt and apply guidelines and procedures and communicate clearly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in similar work setting
