Title: Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Compensation: $35 - $46 per visit, processed bi-weekly.

Shift Type: PT/PRN, Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM (flexible).

Summary:

The Physical Therapy Assistant ("PTA") provides physical therapy services to patients under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. The PTA works as a collaborative member of a patient's care team, working across the internal interdisciplinary care team, physicians, and other stakeholders in our patient's care.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist the physical therapist in following physical therapy care plans.
  • Prepares clinical and progress notes and helps develop the treatment plan (revising as necessary).
  • Performing PT services in line with the care plan and physician orders.
  • Consult with the physical therapist regarding changes in treatment.
  • Instruct patients and caregivers on in-home programs and activities of daily living.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences to contribute to patient updates, discharge planning, etc.
  • Advises and consults with agency personnel and patient family / caregivers.
  • Confirms on a weekly basis the scheduling of visits with the supervising physical therapist, care team, office staff, etc.
