REPORTS TO: Director of Adult Education
WORK SCHEDULE: Temporary Part-Time, Appointment Only, Academic Year
COMPENSATION: $25/hour

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Outreach Worker coordinates and designs a monthly schedule for classes/workshops, tutorial sessions, and GED exams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Creates, maintains, and compiles information into useable qualitative and quantitative information for AE reports.
- Monitors village outreach workers job performance, timesheets, record keeping processes, and record reporting data.
- Coordinates Director/Instructor travel.
- Supervises computer lab student activities and maintains appropriate functions of computer systems.
- Logs in, enters, and manages student profiles; and selects appropriate individual computerized instructional activities on and offline.
- Maintains student records/files, attendance records, and reports statistical information and monthly attendance data to the state of Alaska via state database computerized systems.
- Coordinates and designs a monthly schedule for classes/workshops, tutorial sessions, and GED exams.
- Compiles quantitative and qualitative feedback from students and community regarding the effectiveness and appropriateness of program offerings.
- Participates in staff training as deemed appropriate by the Director of Adult Education.
- Complies with College policies, procedures and administrative directives, as well as state, federal, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Demonstrated experience working with adult learners.
- Demonstrated experience working with special needs learners.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic skills (i.e., Reading, Math, and Writing).
- Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct testing, select materials, and provide individual or small group instruction.
- Demonstrated basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel programs.
- Ability to travel periodically.
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
- Demonstrated knowledge in one or more of the following areas: post-secondary educational systems, North Slope Borough [NSB] institutions and organizations; Iñupiat culture, language, values, and traditions.
- Ability to interpret and represent North Slope community values, customs, and beliefs for the College.
- Ability to interpret and represent College actions and western institutions to the North Slope community.
- Ability to support Iḷisaġvik College’s mission.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/TRAINING [REQUIRED]:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATES/TRAININGS [PREFERRED]:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent.
