Position Title: Cafeteria Worker
Department: Building Level
Reports To: Cafeteria Manager
Contract: 2024-25 School Year
Closing: Until Filled
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the cafeteria manager, the cafeteria worker provides attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two years of related experience and/or training.
PROBATIONARY STATUS: Any substitute or temporary classified personnel will have up to a 60-day "probationary" period. After the 60 days have expired, the employee will be notified of the District's intentions regarding contracted
employment. If the substitute or temporary employee will not be recommended for hire, the building
principal/supervisor will notify the Superintendent of reasons for the non-recommendation, and the
employee will be informed by the next board meeting of those reasons. The substitute or temporary
employee may be recommended for hire and offered a contract before working the entire 60 days if the
supervisor feels the position needs to be filled. The 60-day probation begins after a completed background check, Child Maltreatment Registry and non-contracted hire packet.
Note: All classified supervisory or administrative positions are excluded. These positions will continue to be filled by the Superintendent.

- Assists in the preparation of meals.
- Assists in the serving of meals.
- Assists in the cleaning and after-meal preparations.
- Works together to ensure a good relationship with all fellow employees.
- Assists in food service operations when and where needed, including, but not limited to banquets, special events and emergencies.
- Assist in the disposal and storage of food.
- Responds to after-hour emergencies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
