Job Summary: The Maintenance Repair Worker is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of the facility. This role involves inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing systems and equipment, as well as performing preventative maintenance to minimize future issues.

Duties/Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC etc.)
  • Perform preventive maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
  • Handle basic carpentry, painting, and plumbing repairs as needed.
  • Respond to Maintenance request in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure all repairs are completed according to safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Maintain tools, supplies and equipment in proper working order.
  • Document work performed, including any parts or materials used.
  • Identify potential problems and report issues to supervisors.
  • Assist with after hour emergency maintenance as needed.
  • Clean grounds and maintain lawn and other greenery.
  • Clean office space on a weekly basis.
  • Handle basic communication with contractors.
  • Preform weekly/monthly property inspections.
  • Ensure appliances are in working order
  • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs.
  • Maintain vacant apartments to ensure they are in move in ready condition.
  • All other duties as assigned


Physical Requirements: Ability to read manuals. This position may require working in confined spaces, lifting heavy objects and working at heights. May require occasional evening, weekend, or on-call work. Must be able to work in various weather conditions.

Minimum Educational and General Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Proven experience as a maintenance repair worker or in a similar role. Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and carpentry. Ability to use hand and power tools effectively. Strong troubleshooting skills. Must have and maintain a valid Driver's license and good driving record.

All candidates for employment with CCANO must submit to a criminal records check as a condition of employment.

New employees will be required to complete a criminal background check prior to employment.

Compliance with the State of LA Child Protection Act and Archdiocese Policy on Abuse and Neglect, to provide for the safety and security of all clients served by CCANO programs.

Certain programs require additional background checks in addition to the Archdiocesan check. These may include the "State Police Check " and

" The Department of Education".
