**THE OPPORTUNITY**
Responsible for conducting independent credit examinations on credits within loan portfolios to evaluate credit risk management processes for loan originations and portfolio management and confirm asset and portfolio quality. Assures to the Board Enterprise Risk Committee, executive management, external auditors, and regulators that risk rated assets and loan portfolios of the Bank are managed, evaluated, and risk-graded in a manner that is consistent with corporate policies and regulatory standards. Performs all duties in accordance with the companys policies, standards, and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations.. **HOW YOULL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**
+ Develops and implements a continuous monitoring program of lending unit portfolios between comprehensive portfolio reviews that tracks key risk, performance metrics, and trends that indicate characteristics of possible credit deterioration and emerging risks. The program will include desk reviews of newly originated credits and credits/portfolios reflecting emerging risk profiles.
+ Identifies, recommends, and affects process changes in credit portfolio management activities including new business lending programs, underwriting, and portfolio management requirements.
+ Recommends credit policy changes/enhancements where warranted to further improved processes or ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
+ Correctly identifies weaknesses in portfolio management practices which do not accurately identify correct risk ratings in line with bank policy and regulatory guidance leading to large risk rating variances.
+ Opines on managements ability to adequately administer credit risk loan exposures and concentrations inherent in individual Banking Unit portfolios.
+ Analyzes and reviews credits within the banks product suite that encompass various commercial and retail credit types. Analysis will include a verification of financial analysis including global cash flow and repayment sources that help define asset quality. Ensure Credit Review risk rating changes have been updated on the loan system of record timely and accurately by management.
+ Evaluates and monitors compliance with Credit Policies, Standards, and Procedures to ensure proper controls are in place to satisfy regulatory requirements and ensure best practices.
+ Identifies that exceptions to policy are properly mitigated and that unapproved policy and underwriting exceptions are surfaced as well as findings based on process weaknesses and systemic issues. Will review, document, and track corrective action to ensure timely remediation.
+ Will act as examiner in charge (EIC) and lead examinations including examiner resources. As EIC, will effectively plan, coordinate, and oversee all aspects of comprehensive portfolio review activities including quality control of work papers and other work performed by the examination team, including 3rd party co-source resources.
+ Responsible for developing risk based findings from review results and make meaningful recommendations to management to develop corrective action plans to address the concerns. Responsible for writing a timely exam report within established guidelines and conducts meeting with Senior Management to present conclusions and findings.
+ Provides training and guidance to less experienced examiners, when appropriate. Serves as a subject matter expert in portfolio asset classes and specialized loan/credit risk products.
+ Promotes a collaborative team approach within Credit Review as well as with other line of business units, maintains effective working relationships with lending unit management, credit administration, internal audit, and external 3rd parties.
+ Promotes effective communication with internal and external resources.
+ Independently completes special assignments such as due diligence examinations, task force projects, or specific ad hoc reviews delegated by Credit Review Management.

**WHAT YOULL BRING**
+ Advanced, demonstrated knowledge of credit risk management techniques, credit regulatory guidance, and bank credit administration
+ Advanced, demonstrated knowledge of accounting rules applicable to lending activities, related state and federal laws and regulations, and other Bank policies and standards
+ Thorough understanding of analyzing various types of commercial and consumer credits
+ Must be able to work successfully in a client focused, consultative work environment
+ Strong understanding of analyzing various types of middle market and specialty credits
+ Advanced skills in personal computing; Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
+ Advanced data analytics skills
+ Advanced credit analysis and math skills; calculate interest and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs
+ Effective organizational and time management skills
+ Ability to provide consultation and expert advice to management
+ Ability to deal with complex difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations
+ Ability to work with little to no supervision while performing duties
+ Bachelors Degree from an accredited College or University and a minimum of seven (7) years commercial lending/credit risk management experience, including underwriting, portfolio risk management, or other credit risk related work experience and/or training
+ Minimum 5 years' experience in credit examination, credit administration, or as a commercial lender, regulator, or credit officer recommended
+ Completion of Credit Risk Certification or a formal credit program at a commercial bank preferred
+ Experience of working within credit databases for analysis purposes and to formulate reports preferred

**SALARY RANGE**
The full-time base salary range for this position is $114,000.00 - $156,000.00 USD a year. The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
