Department Details
The Cardiac Cath Lab has 8 angio suites at the new medical center specializing in cardiac cath, vascular, neurovascular (stroke) and structural heart procedures, as well as electrophysiology. Procedures performed in the cath lab include the following: left and right heart catheterizations along with percutaneous intervention as necessary, intracoronary ultrasound, rotational atherectomy, balloon pump insertion, Impella insertion, valvuloplasty, left atrial appendage closure, catheter-directed thrombolysis for pulmonary embolization, structural procedures (TAVI/TAVR), neurovascular cerebral angiograms, stroke treatment, carotid stenting, treatment of cerebral aneurysms with coiling and pipeline interventions, peripheral and renal angiograms with intervention as necessary, Watchmen, CardioMEMs, and Electrophysiology (cardiac devices, ablations, PVI's, laser lead extractions).
In addition, Sanford Health is the only facility in the region performing the following procedures: Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), Mitraclip procedures, EKOS treatment for pulmonary embolization, Angiovac for removal of tricuspid vegetation/pulmonary emboli, and cryoablation for atrial fibrillation. Sanford Health has been recently accredited as a Level 1 Trauma Center and the only Comprehensive Stroke Center in the region. Sanford Health is the only site in North Dakota to achieve Mission Lifeline Accreditation from the American Heart Association. Sanford Health was also awarded the Mission Lifeline Gold Award for STEMI Program and Platinum Award for Heart Attack Care through American Heart Association and American College of Cardiology.
Primary hours fall between Monday-Friday day hours with weekly call/late shift requirement.

Responsibilities
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
