Our client is hiring a skilled and dedicated full-time Optometrist to join their Staten Island, NY practice. As an Optometrist, you will work with a full staff support system and provide exceptional eye care services to our patients. This position offers a flexible schedule of three days per week and includes healthcare benefits. New grads are welcome to apply!

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide comprehensive eye examinations, including assessments of visual acuity, refraction, and ocular health.
  2. Collaborate with the optometric team to diagnose and manage various ocular conditions and diseases.
  3. Prescribe and fit contact lenses and eyeglasses based on patient needs and preferences.
  4. Work closely with our full staff support team, including optometric assistants and technicians, to ensure a smooth and efficient patient flow.
  5. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting all examinations, diagnoses, and treatment plans.
  6. Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry and participate in continuing education to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
  7. Adhere to all relevant legal and ethical standards, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
  8. Collaborate with insurance providers to process claims and verify patient coverage.
  9. Communicate effectively with patients, addressing their concerns and answering any questions they may have.

Requirements:

  1. Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry school.
  2. Valid state license to practice optometry.
  3. Strong knowledge of ocular diseases, conditions, and treatment options.
  4. Proficiency in conducting comprehensive eye examinations and performing pre-testing procedures.
  5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with patients and colleagues.
  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  7. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
