Summary This position is located at Outdoor Recreation. This is a developmental position. After one year of satisfactory performance in the NF-01 Recreation Aid (Developmental) position, the incumbent may be eligible for non-competitive promotion to NF-02 Recreation Assistant at management's request. Responsibilities Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory. Receives and resolves customer complaints. Provides information and general instructions on the use of equipment, facilities and machinery. Assists patrons in use of the facility by checking out equipment, providing safety instruction, demonstrating new equipment, teaching classes, etc. Assists in planning, conducting, and arranging support for special events, social activities, tournaments and related functions. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications NF-01 Qualifications: No work experience required. NF-02 Qualifications: Work experience which involved dealing with the general public. Highly preferred candidates will be referred to management first. In addition to meeting the above qualifications, highly preferred is defined as also meeting the criteria listed below: Currently enrolled in college courses in pursuit of a Bachelors of Science degree in recreation or related field. **Proof of enrollment documentation must be provided at time of application to be considered eligible for highly preferred criteria. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
