Job Description

BASIC FUNCTION SUMMARY

Performs the functions of the site supply activities utilizing company purchasing processes and/or the Naval Aviation Supply System as it applies to intermediate level maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Requisitions supplies and equipment as required and maintains requisition logs and files of all requisitions.
  • Pick up and deliver material from/to the applicable source/destination.
  • Establish and maintain stock records and files.
  • Order parts, tools, materials and equipment, as required.
  • Maintains all assigned mechanically produced reports. Initiates reproduction as necessary.
  • Initiates VIDS/MAFS for tool, and/or equipment repair.
  • Initiates follow up actions for logistics issues, as necessary.
  • Maintains Government furnished Individual Material Readiness List (IMRL), and other government property and furnishings, contractor owned equipment and employee owned property inventory records.
  • Issues and returns to stock or storage area all tools and special equipment.
  • Engraves, etches, tags, or marks tools and equipment as necessary.
  • Visually inspects tools and equipment for wear or defects and reports damaged and worn-out equipment. Makes minor repairs to tools as required, authorized or directed.
  • Inputs data entry elements necessary to maintain inventory and related contract accountability requirements.
  • Prepares parts/supply documentation as required to include requisition, turn in documents, Non-Conforming Material Report, miss-directed Material Shipment Report, Hazardous Material Reports (HMR), Quality Deficiency Reports (QDR) and Report of Discrepancy (ROD).
  • Preforms validations of direct/indirect support material for work center/division. Resolves discrepancies with AWP, Production Control and ASD as appropriate.
  • Makes scheduled/unscheduled parts runs to work centers, Production Control, and elsewhere as directed.
  • Pick-up and deliver documentation, reports and related mail from/to the appropriate source/destination.
  • Performs technical research utilizing manuals, publications, catalogs, bulletins, internet, and directives.
  • Performs phase kit/related consumable material level adjustments as directed. Submits recommended changes to Lead/Supervisor.
  • Performs required inventory functions as directed. Compiles usage data for periodic excessing reviews.
  • Types, routes and files correspondence and related documentation.
  • May be required to perform duties of Aeronautical Material Screening Unit (AMSU) clerk during periods of personal or sick leave, vacation, breaks, reserve duty or during increased workload periods.
  • Accurately completes and signs individual employee timesheet.
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention and Tool Control rules and regulations including participation in FOD walkdowns when directed.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the workcenter and around your assigned work area.
  • Complies with established general and industrial safety rules and regulations as applicable to contract, facilities and job assignment.
  • Maintains appropriate records of all work accomplished.
  • Complies with established Hazardous Material/Waste Programs and Local, State and Federal Environment Protection Agency regulations.
  • Performs simple computer input and extraction functions.
  • May be required to perform duties of HAZMAT/HazWaste Custodian or Assistant Custodian when authorized and designated.
  • Assists when directed to ensure safety, security and preservation of government owned and company owned equipment and property.
  • Shares technical knowledge with other company employees to enhance accomplishment of assigned tasks.
  • May be required to assist other employees in the performance of their duties during periods of personal or sick leave, vacation, breaks, reserve duty, or during increased workload periods.
  • May be required to pass a respirator physical and wear a respirator while performing work related duties.
  • Initiates reports required under the Naval Aviation Maintenance Discrepancy Report Program (NAMDRP).
  • When directed, assist management in investigating reports of defective material, workmanship or work site incidents.
  • Performs other reasonably related incidental duties when directed.
  • Attends meetings/training when directed.
  • Required to handle hazardous materials in performance of assigned duties.
  • May be required to operate a forklift.
Job Requirements

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Must have two (2) years of experience in aviation supply/material control procedures.

Must demonstrate sound arithmetic practices

Must have practical knowledge of a wide range of common and specialized aircraft tools. Have the knowledge and manual dexterity required to make minor repairs to hand tools.

Must be able to type accurately 20 WPM.

Must have a valid state operator's license and be able to pass the government licensing requirements for support equipment and forklifts.

Obtain and maintain all applicable GSE licenses.

Must become familiar with Company and Government Environmental, Health and Safety, Quality Control and Property Control policies and procedures and local operating procedures within 60 days of date of hire or assignment to position.

Must be able to read, speak, write legibly and understand English language.

Knowledge of materials used and safety precaution as applicable to usage.

Familiarization with COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series and other applicable Navy instruction, maintenance instruction manuals, IPB's, manufacturer's manuals, and company instructions as required for the performance of job functions.

Must have the ability to accurately carry out written and verbal orders, instructions and directives.

LICENSING, CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid State Driver's License
  • Must be able to get a CAC Card
  • Certifications/Licensing as required by the contract or Prime Contractor
  • Certifications/Licensing as required by COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 series
