SENIOR PARK AIDE (SEASONAL) - SAN LUIS OBISPO COAST DISTRICT / MORRO BAY STATE PARK
" Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. The reporting location is the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History in Morro Bay State Park, 20 State Park Road, Morro Bay, CA 93442. These positions will work under the direction of the State Park Interpreter III and under the general direction of the State Park Interpreter I.
These positions are responsible for the daily operational and visitor services needs of the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History and Spooner Ranch House. Successful candidates will learn cultural, natural, and recreational resources within the district and may assist interpreting them in programs such as educational walks and talks, Junior Ranger programs, school tours, campfire programs, roving interpretation, outreach programs, and virtual tours. Work shifts will vary (25-35 hours per week). Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and evenings. Candidates will be responsible for complying with the Department uniform standards and as an employee of California State Parks the incumbent shall adhere to the Department performance standards. Bilingual speaking candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
Basic Accounting/Math Skills:
Handle and accurately account for cash and credit card sales of tickets on daily basis. Balance cash handling accurately on daily basis. Make correct change for customers. Prepare accurate records of daily transaction activities. Communicating with direct lead on a daily basis or as needed.
Computer Operations:
Become proficient in the operation and basic maintenance of one or more reservation system PCs, which include daily downloads and printouts.?Refund fees and telephone communications with reservation contractor to resolve reservation difficulties.
This position may work up to 1500 hours per year/in a 12 consecutive month period.
This position requires a valid Class C driver's license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver's license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver's license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
