ROLE OVERVIEW - AREA MANAGER Canada Operations
The successful candidate is responsible for the overall leadership, development, and execution of the business plan for the Alberta Area. This position will lead multiple business units, service lines, and markets. In addition, the individual will lead and ensure the Area meets its goals for safety, client
satisfaction, and budgeted financial performance by delivering exceptional client service, by managing resources efficiently, and by providing a challenging and rewarding environment for employees.
The individual will execute specific business plans including, but not limited to: communicating the future (vision) to employees, partnering with HR and hiring managers to identify staffing needs and to make key hires, professional development for self and staff, client selection and associated marketing efforts, project delivery/management, health and safety, loss prevention and quality control.
This position will collaborate with other leaders in the Division and company to develop objectives and initiatives that align with the company's strategic plan and position the company to grow in the marketplace. Our team is dynamic and collaborative.

EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Geosciences or related field required.
- Professional Designation preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of designated professional experience in an engineering consulting firm or related service business is a must.
- A minimum of 10 years of management/leadership experience required.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Development Excellence
- Possess deep local market knowledge and ensures we are taking advantage of the opportunities in the local marketplace.
- Identify target markets and develop key teaming partnership within the Area.
- Work with Alberta-based Client Account Managers (CAMs) to build strong relationships with Key and Growth Clients, identify project opportunities and create effective value propositions to win new work.
- Develop annual business plan to provide strong profits and growth.
- Develop and implement a 'winning strategy' for profitable and sustainable operations in Alberta.
- Collaborate with, Kleinfelder Global Technical Network, National Market Managers and other business development leaders to understand and promote growth in the local and regional markets.
- Achieve revenue goals and managing business development costs within expectations.
- Develops and maintains client relationships for Key and Growth clients in the Area and throughout North America.
Operational Excellence
- Demonstrate strong business acumen; invest time and money wisely by developing, communicating and delivering on expectations for critical business measures.
- Leverage the company systems, processes, corporate and other resources to create efficiency, business discipline and a great client and employee experience.
- Steward and maintain compliance with company policies, business and management
- Collaborate daily with multi- stakeholders to meet/exceed company standards for ROI for local Market BD investment.
- Ensure the safety of employees through full execution of company safety practices and policies.

Project Management Excellence
- Increase the revenue the Project Managers are delivering by effective coaching and development.
- Hire, develop and continuously improve the project manager talent in the firm, with an emphasis on PM excellence and growing the next generation of talent.
- Ensure our PMs are setting clear goals for themselves and their teams, resulting in our work being delivered on time, as profitable as possible, and meeting quality standards.
- Ensure that client expectations are being met by collecting external and internal feedback on PMs.
- Perform costing for and/or provides guidance to all significant proposal efforts in the Area.
- Drive exceptional business and project management practices.
- Establish method to monitor and improve performance of systems, resources, and processes.
