Description

We are seeking a Human Resource Business Partner to join our HR team. This role encompasses a wide variety of HR functions, with a strong emphasis on employee relations and performance management.The successful candidate will handle investigations, assist with all performance management-related activities, and ensure our HR processes alight with best practices. This person will collaborate closely with the HR department and leaders at Ryan Lawn & Tree to support our 500+ associates, helping to create a workplace where people love to work.

An ideal candidate will have:
  • A strong background in Human Resources, particularly in employee relations and performance management.
  • The ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and employees.
  • A capacity to pivot and prioritize tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from employees and managers, appropriately escalating complex and sensitive matters.
  • Implement, support, and demonstrate an understanding of HR department initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR policies and regulations.
  • Plan, prepare, and coordinate employee onboarding.
  • Maintain personnel records in both electronic and paper forms.
  • Assist with the recruitment process by supporting the Talent Acquisition team during high-volume periods.
  • Update daily systems, including transfers, promotions, and title changes.
  • Prepare termination paperwork, including sending termination letters and exit surveys to associates and termination checklists to supervisors.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives to improve HR processes and enhance the employee experience.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a generalist HR role.
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is preferred.
  • Experience in employee relations and talent acquisition.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Paylocity) and Microsoft Office Suite.
