Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position $105,000 - $122,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. About the Role:

Function as the data engineer to support the data instrumentation and analysis pipeline for the 805 CTS.
  • Creates and maintains optimal data pipeline architecture.
  • Assembles large, complex data sets that meet functional organizational requirements.
  • Identifies, designs, and implements internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability.
  • Builds the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and other 'big data' technologies.
  • Works with stakeholders and design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Keeps data separated and secure across multiple data centers.
  • Works with data and analytics experts to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
  • Builds processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management.

  • Perform other duties, as assigned.


Experience Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role desired.
  • Must have advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational
    databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
  • Must have experience building and optimizing 'big data' data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
  • Must have experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and
    processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Must have strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets.
  • Must have working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable 'big data' data stores.
    • Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
    • Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including
      Postgres and Cassandra.
    • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban,
      Luigi, Airflow, etc.
    • Experience with stream-processing systems: Storm, Spark- Streaming, etc.
    • Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages:
      Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.
  • Experience with cloud services desired.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills desired.
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic
    environment desired.


Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information
Systems, or another quantitative field

Certificate, License, and Registration Requirements:Data engineering certification desired (e.g. IBM Certified Data Engineer).

Other Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
