AWS DevSecOps Engineer, Lead
Key Role:

Spearhead security efforts. Maintain responsibility for working with the team to assist in developing, implementing, and leading security measures to protect projects and infrastructure, while also guiding and developing a team dedicated to security best practices, risk assessments, and mitigation for the sector. Lead the integration of security practices across the DevSecOps life cycle, including planning, design, implementation, testing, and deployment. Design and develop secure infrastructure solutions using Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure while optimizing for scalability, efficiency, and compliance, ensuring that all systems and procedures adhere to industry best practices and governmental regulations for security. Guide the process of certification and accreditation for systems as required by government contracts and standards. Drive the development and implementation of security architectures for the protection of sensitive data and systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate security considerations in the early stages of project development, conduct security assessments and audits, provide recommendations, and oversee the implementation of security controls. Serve as a subject matter expert on security and advising on the latest threats, trends, and technologies while mentoring and developing a team of security professionals, setting clear objectives, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience with computer industry security and identity, and delivering to a large enterprise
  • 5+ years of experience in a security architect role
  • Experience engineering, deploying, and operating tools for large organizations, including Splunk, Microsoft Security Suite, BigFix, Mobile Management, or Config management tools
  • Knowledge of cloud environments and DevSecOps
  • Knowledge of Identity and Access capabilities in an enterprise
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • HS diploma or GED


Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience with government compliance, certification, and accreditation processes, including frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST, and DoD standards
  • Experience leading security initiatives and teams in complex project environments
  • Knowledge of Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and their respective security tools and best practices
  • Knowledge of network architecture, data protection, and application security
  • Knowledge of Secure Development Lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Booz Allen security solutions and process
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Possession of excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • CISSP, CISM, CEH, or other professional Certification preferred

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,100.00 to $250,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
