This is a field-based position for the Oncology Therapeutic Area Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) group within the Scientific Affairs organization.In this vital role, you will interact with Oncology Healthcare decision-makers to communicate and advance the scientific platform as aligned with Amgen's organizational goals and objectives. The MSL is in an integral position to ensure accurate, clear, and valued information regarding our scientific platform is communicated to multiple levels within the medical community. The successful MSL will communicate complex, cutting-edge scientific information and research concepts to healthcare decision-makers, including but not limited to those at academic medical centers. The role may also include clinical and pharmacoeconomic value discussions with payers and formulary decision-makers. The Sr. MSL will also support the training of members of Amgen's speakers’ bureau to ensure they are updated on new data. In addition, the MSL will provide insights based on field interactions and scientific support consistent with Amgen’s organizational goals and objectives.The MSL will interact with HCP thought leaders to communicate and advance the scientific platform as aligned with Amgen’s organizational goals and objectives:Communicate complex cutting-edge scientific information and research concepts to healthcare decision-makers, including but not limited to those at Academic Medical CentersProvide clinical and economic value information to payers and formulary decision-makersIdentify and train members of Amgen’s speakers’ bureau and ensure they are updated on new dataRespond to requests for investigator-sponsored research proposalsSupport Amgen-sponsored researchProvide insights based on field interactions with healthcare thought leaders to Amgen partners.Provide scientific support, consistent with the MSL compliance standards, for commercial, corporate accounts, and other matrix colleagues who may forward HCP inquiriesCultivate scientific relationships between Amgen and Fellows in training.Lead and/or participate on committees or project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics as delegated by MSL leadershipMentor MSLs as designated by MSL leadershipSeek opportunities to support the MSL value proposition, achieve results, and set an example for others to follow by consistently demonstrating Amgen Values and Leadership AttributesDemonstrate tact and professionalism when communicating and interacting with individuals.Exemplify transparency and innovation through words, actions, and decisions.What we expect of youWe are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The dynamic professional we seek is a strong collaborator with these qualifications.Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degree & 2 years of Medical Affairs experienceORMaster’s degree & 6 years of Medical Affairs experienceORBachelor’s degree & 8 years of Medical Affairs experiencePreferred Qualifications:Pharm. D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. (Other doctoral degrees are considered)5 or more years of experience in a medically related field, including 3 or more years focused on clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research.
