We are a team of engineers that run internal/external traffic in a complex and distributed environment with strict privacy and security requirements. We are responsible for the modernization, reliability and observability of Wallets, Payments and Commerce traffic infrastructure.DescriptionAs the demand for our services continues to grow rapidly we are forming a team to best position ourselves to deliver a service to the highest level, as expected at Apple. We handle both customer facing (external) and internal traffic which have strict privacy and security requirements. This is a team of software/systems/network engineers directly responsible for both customer facing (external) and internal traffic globally.
- Ensure the highest level of up-time and quality of service to Apple’s customers through operational quality.
- Design, maintain, and improve global production traffic infrastructure.
- Ownership of reliability issues using a wide variety of tools.
- Identify areas to improve service resiliency through techniques such as chaos engineering, performance / load testing, and game days.Minimum QualificationsKnowledge of load balancing, service mesh, and edge deployments.Familiarity with Networking, Security, Logging, and Application Monitoring.Maintaining customer commitments.Navigating the complexities of the business and service reliability.Excellent verbal and written communications skills.Ability to coach & mentor other ICs.Degree in computer science, related field, or 10 years of equivalent work experience is highly desirable.Preferred QualificationsDeveloping in Go, Python, or similar programming languages.Pay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
