For more information on AdvanSix, please visit our website at Why work at AdvanSix?• We provide benefits that are industry competitive and focused on employee well-being• Total Rewards program includes a competitive compensation, health, dental, vision & wellness programs, paid vacation, 401K with company matching, health savings programs, disability & life insurance, employee assistance program• Tuition reimbursement for continued education, certifications, training, and development• Work within a fast paced and innovative company, meeting passionate colleagues and partners with diverse backgrounds and experiencesPosition Summary: The Civil, Structural, and Architectural (CSA) Design Engineering Leader is responsible for managing the CSA discipline engineering team and design team.  The CSA team provides engineering and design support for Capital projects.  The Design Engineering Leader is responsible for ensuring all work is completed in adherence to industry codes and standards; AdvanSix corporate and plant standards; and plant health, safety, and environmental guidelines, and requirements.Duties and Responsibilities: Manage the civil, structural and architectural discipline team in supporting capital projectsEnsure all team goals and metrics are met or exceededResource planning and scheduling to meet project objectives and schedule milestonesManage project workload using in-house and contract resourcesMonitor project quality, schedule, and productivity for CSA engineering and design workDevelop, review, and approve engineering deliverables such as specifications, reports, drawings, etc. produced by internal and external engineering and design resourcesEngage in the detailed CSA engineering and work with designers and/or CAD operators to ensure accuracy and consistency in drawing presentation and informationConduct or champion CSA design review meetings with all stakeholdersEngage in interdisciplinary project reviews with mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation teamsEnsure Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) requirements are adequately developed and met for engineering, design, and installation workProvide project scoping input to ensure estimate accuracy and appropriate materials and methods are utilized in an efficient designQuickly assess and make recommendations (rapid problem solving) regarding CSA issuesSupport plant operations and maintenance as neededSome travel is required (10-20%)Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in structural or civil engineeringP.E. license (ability to obtain PA and VA licenses)10 years of experience in CSA design in chemical or similar industry requiredAdditional Desirable Qualifications: 5 years of leadership experience managing engineering teamsAutoCAD knowledge, 2D, 3D, and CADWorx (3D Plant design software)Proficient in Microsoft OfficeExcellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate in EnglishMust be an agent for change; not satisfied with the status quoMust have a willingness to take strong and effective action to reduce cost, improve quality, and shorten cycle time; committed to continuous improvement; recommend and develop innovative processesExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to all levels and kinds of people; able to build appropriate rapport and listen wellDemonstrated problem solving and analytical skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environmentExcellent time management skills and ability to perform multiple tasks at a high level of qualityAt AdvanSix, we are dedicated to building a diverse, inclusive, and authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past work experience doesn’t perfectly align with every qualification in the job posting, we encourage you to still apply.
