We also offer systematic alpha and alternative strategies to complement clients' core holdings.This role is part of Parametric's hybrid working model, which includes working in the office 2-3 days a week and choosing to work remotely or in the office the remaining days of the week.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Core Platforms Principal Data Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership on the architecture, development and delivery of business-critical data services to internal stakeholders. In this role the ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data loading, matching, mastering and user interface capabilities using Markit EDM. This role will work extensively with Data Architects and Data Engineers to design, build and maintain data pipelines for on premise and cloud based applications. A critical objective for the Principal Data Engineer role is to deliver scalable enterprise solutions of mastered data assets such as security, prices, benchmarks and other data domains. This role is also critical to improving efficiency in our practices across the software development lifecycle.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Design, develop, and maintain data services using Markit EDM, NiFi and cloud based platforms- Serve as a technical lead for Markit EDM and coach for our team of data engineers- Assist in the ongoing development of best practices for data quality, matching and other data processing activities- Reimagine legacy applications and processes for efficiency, scalability, and resilience- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet business requirements and standards- Produce and maintain project documentation, including technical specs and run books#LI-CG2QualificationsJOB REQUIREMENTS- 10+ years of software development experience with deep knowledge of Markit EDM and SQL- Experience with big data and cloud technologies - HDFS, Hive, Nifi, EC2, S3, Azure, etc.- Proven experience leading the design and delivery of data services- Proven track record of becoming a subject matter expert in areas related to current assignments- Highly skilled in leading teams using Agile development process such as Kanban or Scrum- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent work experience- Financial industry data fluency is preferred but not requiredParametric believes each member of our organization makes a significant contribution to our success. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
