The Wireless Technologies team is looking for highly motivated Cellular modem SW engineering manager who can lead to develop our next generation of cellular products. You will work on modem firmware architecture, design, development and implementation in the Platform SW group in WTE department and will engage with BSP team, software team, platform architecture team, hardware team, and other engineering disciplines to deliver high performance outstanding modem for wireless products. You are upbeat, innovative, adaptable, and results oriented with a positive attitude. We are looking for capable managers who have 7+ years of significant experience in embedded FW and/or SW architecture/development and BSP platform level support. Cellular Firmware Development experience is a plus. DescriptionGenuine passion for innovation and product development with experience from inception through delivery to customers. The Embedded SW Manager will be responsible for all things' firmware related. Architect, design, develop, and maintain hardware and software systems for Apple products. Minimum QualificationsExperience with WiFi, Bluetooth, or similar wireless technologiesHW/SW architecture and design partitioning, CPU selection, memory estimation, and requirements analysisLeading large and complex projects, including feature planning, prioritization, status tracking, and issue triage and reportingExcellent interpersonal skills, including experience leading teamsExcellent communication skills – both written and oralKey QualificationsAt least 10 years of validated experience in wireless SoC firmware engineeringExperience in engineering management, including prior leadership of wireless firmware team(s) with a strong high-volume production track recordExtensive technical background in one or more of the following:Strong embedded SW fundamentals, including a deep understanding of design and development flows, real-time constraints, concurrency, and multi-processor systems, caching and virtual memoryFamiliarity with low-level hardware interfaces, register and interrupt programming, bare-metal software development, clock and power managementExperience with configuration and release management, continuous integration, and regression testingKnowledge of design strategies for maintainability, scalability, and code reuseUnderstanding of wireless systems, MAC and PHY layer operations, digital signal processing, Tx/Rx performance metrics, regulatory constraints, and coexistence issuesExperience with executive communication is a plusEducation & ExperienceM.S. in EE, CE, CS, OR equivalent industry experience Pay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,000 and $272,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
